Video Girl Ai

Video Girl was one of notable manga author, Masakazu Katsura's work before DNA^2, Shadow Lady and Is. The story evolves around a 16-year-old first year high school student, Youta Moteuchi. Youta had a crush with his classmate Moemi Hayakawa but has yet enough courage to express it to her due to his shy nature. The only person who knew this was Youta's best friend, Takashi Niimai- another classmate of Youta. Knowing how Youta felt, Takashi tried to make Moemi fond of Youta but instead, found out that Moemi actually had a crush on him.

After knowing how Moemi felt for Takashi, Youta went home, heart broken. On his way home, he was atracted by lights from a shop known as Video Shop Gokuraku, which he had never seen before. Entering the store, Youta found a videotape with a nice-looking girl on the cover and thus, decided to rent it. When he reached home, Youta run the tape in his spoilt VCR and soon after playing a few minutes, the girl in the television screen got her way out of the television and came into Youta's life. This girl is Amano Ai, a video girl who was programmed to provide comfort to a person emotionally hurt. But due to being played on a spoilt VCR, Ai's programme was mixed up and she begun to have human emotions which Video Girls shouldn't have. And so, a complex yet romantic love story started...

The manga series consists is 15 volumes whereas the anime and also a shorter version of Video Girl Ai consists of 6 Original Video Animation approximately 30 minutes for each episode. I would actually recommend the anime series probably it was somehow, much more interesting and funny than the manga series. Also, note that the anime series only started in the first manga and ended at the third. (This is where I'll stop. Probably because I don't know how to continue... sorry...)
