 Ranma
Nibunnoichi
Ranma Nibunnoichi is one Takahashi
Rumiko's famous works. Ranma Saotome, the main
character of the story, went training with his father,
Genma Saotome, to China's training ground Jusenkyo,
also known as the land of cursed springs. Upon reaching
Jusenkyo with a help of a guide, the father-and-son
started training immediately without a valuable advice
from the guide- not to fall into the cursed springs.
Slipping off a bamboo pole,
Ranma accidentally fell into the NiangNiChuan and
was then cursed to change into a girl when Ranma comes
into contact with cool water. Genma, on the other hand,
fell into the XiongMaoNiChuan, also known as the
Cursed Spring of Drowned Panda and was cursed to change
into a panda whenever he comes into contact with cool
water.
The worst
wasn't over for Ranma. Besides becoming a girl when he
comes into contact with water, Ranma was put into series
of marriages with girls he had never seen before thanks
to his father. (Out of these fiancees, Akane Tendo was
the only one that Ranma disliked in the beginning but
slowly became fond of her.)
So the day for Ranma to meet
Akane finally came. But what the Tendos (Akane's family)
saw wasn't what they really expected. As it was raining
that day, Genma and Ranma appeared as a panda and girl
respectively. Thus, a sweet and hilarious story began...
